3/17/2024 0 Comments Dell optiplex 3020 microThat is how the 3010 was if memory serves. Though there is a good change the 3020 only has 1 PCIe x16 slot. In theory, depending upon what kind of PCIe video cards and "splitters" you are using, this might work. Although any time you use onboard DP with another card, you have to mindful of the type of DP->DVI adapter you are using, passive or active. For this and a couple other reasons, I still prefer the older 7010 series. I am not sure this is accurate, but I recall seeing some discussion from unhappy people in the same boat on the Dell forums after they were told by their sales rep that the 3020 could support 3 monitors configurations. Unlike many other Optiplex models, it does not have a Multi Display option in the BIOS (aka System Setup) to enable both at the same time. My end user is now reporting that after a shut down, the PC will not come back on. I just took a Dell Optiplex out of the box, joined to the Domain, ran updates, etc. I am pretty sure I remember that the Optiplex 3020 chipset implementation or BIOS completely disables both the onboard VGA and DP once a PCIe card is present.
